I have been selected to represent the United Kingdom/Ireland in an international volunteer program this summer. I will be traveling to Dominican Republic to volunteer for a minimum of 80 hours in a project focusing on social community development. I will be travelling with International Student Volunteers (ISV), (www.isvonline.org) I am really excited to spend my summer volunteering abroad as I learn about another culture and give back to a country which needs my help. I will be working in a social community development project, and this experience will broaden my cultural awareness. I will be able to impact the lives of disadvantaged people, including children. My team will live within the local community and gain hands-on, practical experience. I will learn about the challenges of people who live in developing countries and community. I am looking for help with my fundraising to allow me to participate in such an amazing opportunity.
